What is the best advise you have ever been given?
by new hope and happiness inawhile a go i was uptight about a matter i can't remember now and my friend said to me " give the other side the victory".
a while ago my little boy was getting uptight and argumentative with his mum i asked him " to let it go" in effect i suppose " giving the other side the victory".
anyway i am sure our life exsperiences have allowed us both receive and give good advice.

You bothers and sisters aren't losing faith, are you? Look how much closer we are now to the end. Wouldn't it be a shame to lose faith now when armegeddon is so near?

things in general, and things wt/jw related ?.
i find i am much more relaxed and pragmatic about life in general, mrs phizzy and i do what we can, but we don't get overly upset at what we cannot do.

I'm at 10 years.
When I first stopped going to meeting I had tons of anxiety. I was afraid to talk to people for fear they would ask me about my meeting attendence. This went on for a few years.
Now, I talk about it completely calmly like it's in the past. A witness is what I used to be. I'm not df'd so I still have to be careful in what I say around witnesses that I run into once in a while. But it's no out of fear... I'm just exploiting a loophole in their own rules.

It is so obviously a lie......now
by snare&racket inonce the spell is broken, one you take a deep fresh breath outisde of the watchtower camp, the amazingly obvious realisation becomes clear.... of course this is a lie, of course this is ridiculous!
you find you have memories of really believing the claims and promises, but it seems like another life, another experience.
it seems so incredibly false once you leave and it is very difficult to belive you even once accepted it!

Nice post. I feel exactly the same. I never quit going because I had issues with their teachings- I quit going because I no longer had any motivation to go. After a while, I looked back and realized it was all a farce.
The culture is what keeps you from asking questions and thinking for yourself. Everyone can't wait for "new light" and more clarity from the platform that they make themselves completely dependant on the governing body to do their thinking for them. It's such a big deal to wait for some little "new light" detail that everyone excitedly talks about and incorporates without any critical thinking.
Your gambling example is spot on.

for those of us stuck in the usa, not a first world country at all, please feel free to read on.. i've done my best to be fiscally responsible my whole life.
i bought my first house at age 25. and because of having a little loot to protect and not wanting to end up in some overcrowded emergency room waiting hours to be seen by doogie howser, i purchased health insurance.

You also can't be denied coverage for pre existing conditions. If you care about your children, they are also provided exended coverage until age 26 under the ACA"

Question: If the spin is that the loan is "forgiven" will the title to the Kingdom hall go back to the officers of the corporation?
It's my understanding that the reason KH's have been in constant remodeling is because the society, which loaned the money for the remodel, would hold the title. Hence, when the loan was repaid, suddenly it was time for another remodel and another loan. This was to prevent a Menlo Park KH situation. So if the loan is forgiven- who has the title and what names are on it?

I agree with the above. You should be able to get away with one report. From here on out be very general with round numbers or add/subract a certain percentage from all numbers. Or something.
Great info though.

Bad choice, Billy. You wasted all that time for secular pursuits when you could have been driving a crappy 4 door car, going door-to-door, and building up points in heaven. Armegeddon is even closer now than it was 4 years ago.
What if Noah and his family had taken 4 years off from building the Ark? They would likely have faced certain destruction. At the very least they wouldn't have been able to save all the animals, like the lions and giraffes. Can you imagine a world without lions and giraffes? Billy, what modern day lions and giraffes will you have to leave behind because of your self serving course pursuing riches in Satan's world?
Thankfully, we now understand that the generation that passed away, but wasn't supposed to pass away, wasn't actually a generation in the classic sense, but a generation of overlapping generations, of which the overlapped part is still alive and didn't pass away, yet. This new understanding is so much simpler than our previous understanding where a generation was just a generation. Thankfully Jehovah blessed us with this New Light as we were just starting to think that maybe we were wrong, or something.
This just goes to show you that there are those that saw the "generation" pass away and lost faith, but actually they didn't wait on Jehovah and his new light.
Billy, because of this new light it appears that there may still be time to get back into Jah's good favor before he unleashes Armageddon's certain destruction on Satan's system and your esteemed university. But you'll need to work very hard and act fast- (at least until there's more New Light that moves the finish line once again).
[Just kidding. Congrats!]

All the Obamacare-ites love to pretend that everyone that hates Obamacare wants to go uninsured and be irresponsible. This simply isn't the case. I'm self employed and had reasonably priced coverage before the Unaffordable Care Act. Now I have to pay 40% more for worse coverage.
I feel duped because I was under the impression that if I liked my plan (which I did) that I could keep my plan. Where did I get this idea from? Hmmm....
Supposedly Obamacare will force everyone that wasn't covered before to buy health coverage. But let me ask some questions: Why will people that made poor choices before suddenly make good choices and sign up for unaffordable coverage? Because there's a law that says they are supposed to? Will illegal immigrants suddenly buy health care so they can obey the law? Will the homeless and mentally ill? What if those struggling are unable to keep up with their bills and let the policy lapse?
Obamacare doesn't fix these problems. But it does punish the responsible people that were already paying for coverage by gouging them further.
